VIEW PROJECT
Sysco Foods, the world’s global foodservice leader, is continually implementing rooftop safety measures throughout its facilities as part of its OSHA Compliant safety program.
There is mechanical equipment on the rooftop that is less than 15’ from the roof edge. OSHA mandates fall protection at these points on the roof. Safety Rail Source performed a site visit and determined that the best solution to satisfy OSHA and protect workers was to install the free-standing NextGen 3000® Railing System.
Two vaulted skylights located on the roof of the reception area did not have fall protection. OSHA mandates that all skylights are protected to ensure safe working conditions on the roof. Each skylight measured 77’ x 26’.
To access Berry Plastic’s roof, one needed to climb thru a hatchway that was installed close to the roof edge. Once on the roof, one needed to navigate past 37 skylights that were unprotected fall hazards. Berry Corporation called on Safety Rail Source to provide fall protection solutions to protect workers and satisfy OSHA.
