First, to protect the open roof hatch itself, various standard and custom sizes of  Kee Hatch® Railing are available. Second, the new NextGen Lift & Lock™ roof hatch opener enables users to open, close, lock and unlock roof hatches quickly, easily and safely, while standing at the base of the ladder, Third, NextGen Fixed Ladder Lifelines ensure safety while climbing ladders, using SecuRope or SecuRail tie-off.

NextGen Lift & Lock™ Roof Hatch Opener

When personnel are on the roof, OSHA Standards 1910.28 and 1910.29 require that an open hatchway must be protected by a guardrail and gate. Our KeeHatch Railing System satisfies these Standards. Also, OSHA requires that you always have three points of contact while climbing or standing on a ladder. Locking a roof hatch with one hand while clinging to the top of the ladder is extremely dangerous. Our Lift & Lock roof hatch opener not only opens and closes the hatchway at the bottom of the ladder, it also conveniently locks the hatch from ground level.

Also keep in mind that after November 18, 2036, all fixed ladders must be equipped with a personal fall arrest system or a ladder safety system. Our NextGen SecuRope™ and SecuRail™ satisfy these requirements.

Schools, institutions, medical facilities, pharmacies, drug stores, big box stores and many others will benefit most from these solutions.
