Skylight Fall Protection Screens, required by OSHA, are barriers installed on top of skylights to prevent falls thru skylights. They are manufactured for domed, corrugated and standing seam skylights. Screens meet a 200 to 400-pound-load requirement. Custom sizes are available in Galvanized or Stainless Steel. NextGen Skylight Safety-Screens™ meet the new OSHA Code: 1910.28(b)(3)(i) which mandates that each employee is protected from falling through any hole (including skylights) that is 4 feet (1.2 m) or more above a lower level by one or more of the following: skylight safety covers, guardrail systems, travel restraint systems or personal fall arrest systems. Compared to alternatives such as skylight guard rail and active fall protection devices, skylight screens / skylight cages are a budget-friendly way to keep people safe.

Safety Rail Source® offers four types of Skylight Safety-Screens: Model STS skylight guard for domed skylights that clamps onto the skylight curb, Model SRS for domed skylights that rests on the roof and is fastened to the skylight counter flashing, Model SSS that designed to clamp onto standing seam skylights, and Model SCS skylight covering for corrugated fiberglass skylights. All these skylight guards are offered in galvanized metal or stainless steel and if needed, a heavier gauge metal screen to meet stringent Cal-OSHA Compliance Safety Standards.

It is important to note that some skylights are also smoke vents that automatically open when a fire or extreme heat is present. To protect skylight smoke vents, we recommend installing our Skylight Railing product.

All our skylight guards are easy to install with a few simple tools. Once the metal screens and hardware are in place on the roof, two men can install one skylight screen protection system in less than 10 minutes.

When comparing the quality, engineering, and price of NextGen 3000™ Skylight Safety-Screens to other skylight fall protection cages such as the Plastico FallGuard Screens, the Garlock ScreenGuard Skylight Covers, the SkyDome Skylight Protector and the Safety Rail Company SRC Skylight Screens, you’ll quickly understand why NextGen Skylight Safety-Screen is the leading brand and industry leader in skylight fall protection.
