The NextGen Domed Skylight Safety-Screen™, Model STS, provides an easily installed skylight cover in compliance with OSHA Code: 1910.28(b)(3)(i). The skylight fall protection system guards against injuries or death from accidental falls through the lens of the skylight.
The curb-mounted skylight screen attaches to the outer frame of a skylight using two extruded aluminum rails that clamp to the curb by tightening the threaded rods at each end of the skylight. This non-penetrating compression installation eliminates possible leaks caused by fastening the skylight screen to the skylight frame. The semi-circular, heavy metal 4 x 4 grid rests in a channel on the aluminum rail and is secured using aluminum clips.
Model STS skylight guards are available in galvanized or stainless steel wire mesh. The screen can be special ordered with a design to withstand a 400 pound load to comply with Cal-OSHA standards.
