NextGen Corrugated Skylight Safety-Screens™, Model SCS, provide an easily installed skylight cover in compliance with OSHA Code: 1910.28(b)(3)(i). The skylight fall protection system guards against injuries or death from accidental falls through the lens of the skylight. The heavy metal 4 x 4 grid rests on two U-shaped stainless steel channels installed on the outside skylight panel ribs. The screens and channels are attached through the roof to the steel or wood building purlins using metal clips included in the kit. Model SCS skylight guards are available in galvanized or stainless steel wire mesh. This screen can be special ordered with a design to withstand a 400 pound load to comply with Cal-OSHA standards.

NextGen Skylight Safety Screens™ are a metal screen system that is attached to the metal rib/corrugated building structure over a skylight panel to protect against injuries or death from accidental falls through the lens of the skylight. NextGen Skylight Safety Screens™ are attached to the building structural member using two support channels centered on the skylight for secure installation and superior fall protection.
Construction, Materials, Installation
Screen Material: .187 galvanized carbon steel or stainless steel wire in a welded 4” X 4” grid, flat with an overall size of 40” x 128”.
Support Channels: 128” in length are formed to fit over standard ribbed or corrugated profiles (for 10’ skylights). Channels rest on two of the skylight panel major ribs and are positioned lengthwise beyond the ends of the installed skylight and are attached through the roof to the steel or wood building purlins with supplied fasteners. The screen is attached at the same time using metal clips included in the kit.
Installation Time: 2 men in 30 minutes per unit.
NextGen Skylight Safety Screens™ are designed to comply with OSHA General Industry Standard 29 CFR 1910.23 (a)(4) and 29 CFR 1910.23 (e)(8).
