A Kick Plate, (aka Toe Plate or Toe Board) is required by OSHA when work is performed around a railing system where there is the possibility of workers below that working surface. The Kick Plate prevents tools and other objects from being accidentally kicked or falling through the opening onto the personnel below.
Type 69 Railing Flanges (included) are designed with bolt holes to attach to the Kick Plate. The Kick Plate is extruded aluminum with slots for the bolt heads. The bolt heads slide into the slots with the bolt extending through the Type 69 Flange holes. The bolts are then tightened to secure the plate. For OSHA compliance, the Kick Plates are 4" high. Stainless steel mounting hardware is included.
